The Kelly bag can be said to be one of the most classic Hermès bags. As early as 1892, its original prototype was introduced to the world. But the real reason why it became popular is really related to a princess named Kelly. It is said that at that time, the American magazine "Life" took a photo of the then Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco holding this bag to cover her pregnant belly. After the publication, people did not talk about her pregnancy, but were quite curious about the bag she used. This bag has been a trend since then. Later, Hermès asked Grace Kelly to name it after her, and the Kelly bag came into being.
We have a message for customers who don't want to wait for their highly sought-after handbags: "We're producing at top speed."
Each bag is made by a single artisan and requires 15-20 hours of work.
This means each person can only produce two to three bags per week.
Slow work, careful craftsmanship! Therefore, the waiting list is long, and no two pieces are exactly alike.
We recently opened our 19th Hermés leather goods workshop in France (pictured).
Over the past 10 years, we've employed over 5,600 artisans.
Our bags delight everyone and underscore that we are making a statement about our commitment to quality.
